Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ara Tiotio (ranked 301 p4p, 168 weight class) and Ivan Samsonov (ranked 41 p4p, 24 weight class). Tiotio comes to the ring accompanied by Havana. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The crowd cheers as Samsonov lands an impressive looking overhand right. Tiotio doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Ara Tiotio has been cut.
Samsonov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tiotio moves away.
Tiotio was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

and Tiotio counters with a crisp one two that drops Samsonov! Tiotio thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Samsonov to his feet! Samsonov is in big trouble!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tiotio takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Samsonov lands a high kick to the side of Tiotio's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Samsonov dives into guard, looking to finish.

Samsonov passes Tiotio's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Tiotio knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Samsonov on the ground.

Samsonov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tiotio defends it well.

Samsonov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tiotio keeps working.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Tiotio is in trouble now - Samsonov has advanced to mount!
Tiotio is trying desperately to improve position.

Samsonov is working for a guillotine from mount but Tiotio frees his head quite easily.

Samsonov swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Tiotio is now in Samsonov's guard. A big mistake from Samsonov there, giving up the dominant position!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Tiotio has cracked Samsonov with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Tiotio lands another huge swinging hook and Samsonov tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Samsonov, before Tiotio can land any more shots!
