Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Austin Jarpin (ranked 24993 p4p, 24764 weight class) and Ryan Hall (ranked 251 p4p, 253 weight class). Ryan Hall is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Austin Jarpin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Hall!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hall throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jarpin's head.
Jarpin misses with a head kick.
Jarpin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hall tries to counter by closing the distance.
Hall shoots in but Jarpin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jarpin throws a leg kick that is checked

and Hall counters with a takedown into side control.

Hall looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Jarpin manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Hall is positioning himself well to prevent Jarpin advancing to mount.
Hall is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hall trying to get back to full guard but Jarpin takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Hall is desperately trying to improve his position but Jarpin has a good base and remains in mount.
Jarpin landing strikes from the mount and Hall is in trouble!
Jarpin cracks Hall with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jarpin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Jarpin jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hall manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Jarpin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jarpin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Jarpin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Jarpin cracks Hall with an elbow. That is naaassty.
You can see the frustration on Hall's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hall is trying to get back to half guard.

Jarpin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hall has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jarpin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hall is not content to let Jarpin control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hall can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jarpin wants to stand but Hall is controlling his arm.

Hall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jarpin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hall is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jarpin is controlling him well.
Hall is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jarpin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hall is trying to get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hall misses with a strike from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hall throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Jarpin clinches up with Hall and pushes him back against the cage.
Jarpin tries to stall but Hall uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Hall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jarpin tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Hall counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Jarpin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hall is working Jarpin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hall is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hall thows a body kick. Jarpin tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Jarpin clinches with his opponent.
Jarpin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jarpin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hall has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Jarpin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hall smiles and moves away.
Hall avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jarpin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Hall counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Hall fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jarpin to the ground. Hall is now in Jarpin's guard.

Hall wants to pass the guard but Jarpin is keeping the position.
Hall is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jarpin looking for a sweep. Not yet Jarpin, not yet.
Jarpin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hall controls the pace.
Hall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jarpin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hall fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jarpin avoids it really well and circles away.
A head kick from Hall lands but Jarpin takes it in his stride.
Hall circles away from the clinch attempt.
A head kick by Jarpin misses
and Hall cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hall fails with the takedown.
Hall's jab looks to have found its range, popping Jarpin under the eye.
Hall fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Austin Jarpin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Hall.

Jarpin tries to clinch but Hall is having none of it.
Jarpin throws a head kick that misses.
Jarpin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hall defends well and Jarpin ends up having to push Hall into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hall has managed to clinch.

Hall pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jarpin goes for a double leg but Hall avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hall continues to drive forward.
Hall feints the counter takedown.

Jarpin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hall wants to stand up but Jarpin is controlling him.
Hall is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Jarpin throwing strikes but missing.

Hall tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hall wants to stand and escape but Jarpin is having none of it.
Hall has Jarpin pulled in close to control his posture.
Jarpin wants to control from the top but Hall keeps moving.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hall is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jarpin's half guard.
Jarpin wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Hall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jarpin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jarpin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Jarpin stands and throws Hall's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hall is looking to regain half guard here but Jarpin keeps moving and retains side control.

Hall is looking for a sweep.
Hall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jarpin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jarpin closes the distance and clinches.
Jarpin jumps guard but Hall turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Jarpin fails to pull guard.

Hall gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jarpin regains guard.
Hall scoring with some ground and pound.
Hall has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jarpin is proving hard to escape from.
Hall controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hall throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jarpin.
Hall swats away the attempt to clinch by Jarpin.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Austin Jarpin.
I think Jarpin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
