Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Shaw (ranked 4986 p4p, 4769 weight class) and Zeus Turner (ranked 486 p4p, 473 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

Turner cracks Shaw with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Shaw clinches.
A head punch on the inside from Shaw fails to land.
Shaw goes for a takedown attempt but Turner pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Shaw has Turner up against the cage in a clinch.

Turner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Turner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shaw throws a sloppy head kick and Turner moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Turner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Turner tries to bum rush Shaw with a series of wild strikes but Shaw uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Turner works the jab nicely.
Turner scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Turner jabs Shaw right on the nose. Shaw blinks but takes it well.

Shaw moves into the clinch successfully.

Shaw decides to pull guard.
Turner throws a strike but Shaw rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turner is working an open guard so Shaw takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Shaw drops down looking for a counter takedown but Turner sprawls and moves away.
Turner fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Shaw checks it well.
Shaw seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Shaw wants to pass to mount but Turner is defending the position.
Shaw wants to stand but Turner has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Shaw decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Shaw misses with a series of wild punches.
Turner is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Shaw fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Turner, pushing him back against the cage.

Shaw has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Turner is trying to keep an underhook but Shaw manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Turner has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Shaw is on him like a limpet, forcing Turner back against the cage.

Turner breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Turner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Shaw takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Zeus Turner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
An inside leg kick lands from Turner.
Shaw tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Turner scores with a head kick. Shaw tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Zeus Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turner misses with a wild combination.
As Turner tries to get set, Shaw tries to push him back and clinch up but Turner manages to avoid the attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Turner lands a head kick!
Shaw blocks a low kick nicely.

Shaw shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Shaw was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Turner wants to get back to his feet.

Shaw stands up.
Some bone on bone action there as Shaw checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Shaw takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Turner fails to land with a series of punches.
Shaw on the wrong end of a nice hook.

and Shaw decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Turner's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zeus Turner dominated that round.
That's time! Shaw's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Shaw tries to clinch but Turner is having none of it.
Zeus Turner seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Turner throws a leg kick

and Shaw counters with a nice double leg into side control. Turner won't be happy with that.

Shaw stands up.
Turner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
As Turner tries to get set, Shaw tries to push him back and clinch up but Turner manages to avoid the attempt.
Turner tests Shaw's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Shaw shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shaw showed some decent athleticism there.
Shaw has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shaw prevents Turner from standing back up.
Shaw works his way into side control.

Shaw is working to tighten his grip on Turner's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Turner has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Shaw is really squeezing tight and eventually Turner passes out! Shaw breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
