Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Atticus Turner (ranked 4565 p4p, 4807 weight class) and Carl Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 500 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Atticus Turner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Johnson.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Turner lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Johnson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Johnson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Turner throws a lazy right hand but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Turner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Turner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.

Carl Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Turner sprawls well. Turner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.

Turner manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Johnson on his heels. He'll look to pass Johnson's guard now, I'm sure.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Turner decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Turner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Turner is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Johnson is hurt! He's hurt bad - Turner fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Johnson from any more punishment! Congratulations to Turner! Great finish!
