Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between DJ Cannonier (ranked 5901 p4p, 24311 weight class) and Dechlan Tomsett (ranked 452 p4p, 515 weight class). DJ Cannonier has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, DJ Cannonier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dechlan Tomsett! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cannonier fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tomsett avoids it really well and circles away. Tomsett cracks Cannonier with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Tomsett stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tomsett wants it to stay on the feet. Horrible takedown attempt by Tomsett or perhaps it was just good defense by Cannonier, which made it look bad. Cannonier fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tomsett avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DJ Cannonier. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cannonier fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cannonier shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tomsett but Tomsett pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tomsett slaps away a takedown attempt from Cannonier, before circling back to the center of the mat. Tomsett throws a head kick that misses. Tomsett throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cannonier takes a swing at Tomsett's ribcage but misses. Tomsett tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Cannonier moves into range and clinches up with Tomsett. Cannonier manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Cannonier keeping moving, preventing Tomsett from controlling successfully. Tomsett stopping the sweep attempt from Cannonier. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tomsett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tomsett wants to control from the top but Cannonier keeps moving. Tomsett postures up in Cannonier's guard and throws a big left but Cannonier blocks it. Cannonier working for submissions but it's allowed Tomsett to get to half guard.
Tomsett is trying to work for a kimura but Cannonier is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tomsett tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Cannonier. Cannonier is controlling Tomsett's position as best he can from this difficult position. Cannonier throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from Cannonier. Tomsett unleashes a big counter combination but Cannonier bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tomsett wants to clinch. Cannonier closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tomsett circles away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Tomsett. Cannonier gets in close and instigates a clinch. Cannonier fails to pull guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tomsett is looking to break free of the clinch but Cannonier has double underhooks. Cannonier jumps guard but Tomsett turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dechlan Tomsett dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Cannonier uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tomsett. Tomsett tries to bum rush Cannonier with a series of wild strikes but Cannonier uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cannonier rushes Tomsett and presses him up against the cage. Cannonier lands a damaging elbow. Tomsett misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Cannonier.
Cannonier manages to break the clinch.
Cannonier has closed the distance and engaged Tomsett in a clinch.
Cannonier is trying to drag Tomsett to the mat but Tomsett just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Cannonier is pushing Tomsett up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cannonier taking a breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cannonier is looking for a takedown. Tomsett manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Tomsett breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tomsett pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Cannonier has Tomsett up against the cage in a clinch.
Tomsett is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Cannonier utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Tomsett tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cannonier just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cannonier tries to pull guard but Tomsett holds him up against the cage and eventually Cannonier drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DJ Cannonier. That's going to take a lot out of him. Still in the clinch, Cannonier scores with a nice short uppercut. Cannonier managing to block the knees to the body from Tomsett.

Tomsett with a poor takedown and Cannonier counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Tomsett is rocked! Cannonier shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Tomsett counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Tomsett is still on wobbly legs! Can Cannonier finish him? Tomsett doesn't manage to clinch there - Cannonier circles away.
Tomsett misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. This has been an exciting period of action! Cannonier has managed to clinch.
Cannonier pulls guard effortlessly. Tomsett seems to have recovered his senses. Cannonier is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Cannonier is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tomsett can do to turn this around? Cannonier is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tomsett doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cannonier.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cannonier tries to stand and escape but Tomsett is controlling the position. Cannonier moves nicely into side control. Tomsett is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Tomsett struggling a bit here. Cannonier working the ground and pound. Tomsett gets back to half guard. Cannonier controlling the action here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DJ Cannonier dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Cannonier stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cannonier wants it to stay on the feet. Tomsett closes the distance but Cannonier moves to the side letting Cannonier counter with a right hand. Cannonier fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A momentary lapse in concentration from Tomsett enables Cannonier to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tomsett manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Tomsett looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cannonier passes into half guard.
Tomsett is doing well to control the position and prevent Cannonier from advancing to side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tomsett trying to control but Cannonier postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cannonier not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Cannonier controlling the pace. Tomsett has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cannonier is working away from the top position though. Tomsett wants to improve his position but Cannonier is controlling well.
Cannonier moves into full mount! Tomsett won't be happy about that!
