Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dave Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenneth Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by I WILL NOT BOW. Smith comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Monster Magnet - Powertrip kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kenneth Smith!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Davis.
Davis throws a leg kick but Smith sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Davis moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Davis lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Smith has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Smith and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Smith moves into the clinch successfully.
Davis is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Smith jumps guard and drags Davis to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Smith is looking for a triangle but Davis pushes his legs off easily.
Davis stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Davis fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Smith checks it well.
Davis attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Davis connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Davis is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Smith has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Davis wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davis keeps working.
Smith wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Davis, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Davis tries to escape but Smith is in control.
Smith working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Smith lands an elbow.
Smith prevents Davis from escaping the position.
Smith is looking to take a break and control but Davis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Smith in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Davis tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Davis tries to buck Smith off but he can't manage it.
Smith lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Davis hang on?
Smith lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Davis is squirming around, avoiding Smith's attempts to control the action.
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Smith has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Davis's face.

Davis is breathing heavily.

Smith looking to isolate an arm here. Davis doesn't see it coming and as Smith extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Smith!
