Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Day (ranked 2144 p4p, 627 weight class) and Domonic Dilbrandt (ranked 126 p4p, 83 weight class). Dilbrandt comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Champ is Here kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Domonic Dilbrandt was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Domonic Dilbrandt!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.

Dilbrandt ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Dilbrandt takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Both fighters circling a little - Dilbrandt finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Day misses with a hook.
Dilbrandt now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Day is defended easily by Dilbrandt.
Day is looking to clinch.
Dilbrandt shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Day has managed to clinch.
Dilbrandt fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Dilbrandt tries to throw a body punch but Day avoids it by throwing Dilbrandt back against the cage.
Day tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dilbrandt smiles and moves away.
A punch combination from Dilbrandt misses.
Dilbrandt lands a nice hook to Day's body. Day takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Day turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Day manages to end up in side control.
We've been hearing that Day has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Day is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dilbrandt's shoulder. That is not cool.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Day is trying to control. Dilbrandt wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Day tries to pass to full mount but Dilbrandt defends it.

Dilbrandt just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Dilbrandt's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Day wants to control his opponent's hands but Dilbrandt gets his hands free.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dilbrandt has the hooks in. Day is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Day covering up well and avoiding damage.

Domonic Dilbrandt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Day fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dilbrandt throws a push kick but Day slaps the foot to one side.

Day throws a right hand that misses
and Dilbrandt connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Day is rocked!

Oh Day is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dilbrandt creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Day can't get the takedown.
Day is trying to drag Dilbrandt to the mat but Dilbrandt just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Dilbrandt gets underhooks to prevent Day's takedown attempt.

Day has Dilbrandt pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dilbrandt manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Day has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dilbrandt after a bit of a struggle.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dilbrandt takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

A solid leg kick lands there for Dilbrandt.

and Dilbrandt counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Day! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Dilbrandt!
