Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between William Lati (ranked 3652 p4p, 2644 weight class) and Clay Hayden (ranked 415 p4p, 328 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lati might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ye- Burna Boy. The key to victory for William Lati has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Lati falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hayden counters with a solid body kick.
Hayden buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lati misses with a hook

and Hayden counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hayden.
Lati keeping moving, preventing Hayden from controlling successfully.

Hayden is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lati has control of Hayden's left arm, preventing Hayden from doing any damage.
Lati's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

and Hayden counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Lati wants to get back to his feet but Hayden passes into half guard.

Hayden is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lati has managed to free his arm - good work.

Hayden lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Hayden seems to be looking for submissions.
Lati moves into full guard.
Hayden trying to control but Lati is working from the bottom.
Hayden might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lati haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hayden controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Lati wants to sweep but no luck.

Lati lands a left and a right that send Hayden crashing to the mat, dazed. Lati thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
