Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Holmes Jr (ranked 487 p4p, 2005 weight class) and Don Johns (ranked 72 p4p, 275 weight class). Holmes Jr comes to the cage accompanied by Red - Damage. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Don Johns!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.

A looping hook to the body misses from Holmes Jr. Johns does a little dance to reset his feet.

Holmes Jr throws a sloppy head kick and Johns moves out of range easily.
Johns looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Holmes Jr will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Johns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johns sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Holmes Jr has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Johns wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Holmes Jr's closed guard. He's half up but Holmes Jr has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Holmes Jr pivots and extends the arm, Johns falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Holmes Jr! Well done that man!

A relieved looking Mike Holmes Jr thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
