Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rinaldi (ranked 3033 p4p, 1599 weight class) and Ben Reed (ranked 383 p4p, 218 weight class). Ben Reed will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Rinaldi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Reed! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rinaldi fails to land the takedown. Rinaldi shoots in looking for a takedown but Reed manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rinaldi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Rinaldi moves out of range as Reed throws a body kick.
That kick from Reed tenderised Rinaldi's leg. Rinaldi is trying to keep his angry face on. Reed fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Rinaldi looks for a takedown but Reed sprawls well. Reed swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Rinaldi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Crunch! Reed slams his shin into Rinaldi's torso. Rinaldi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
It looks like Sam Rinaldi has been cut. Rinaldi tries for a takedown but Reed sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters circle momentarily. Reed darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Rinaldi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Rinaldi avoids the head kick by Reed.
Rinaldi shoots in but no luck this time. Reed misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rinaldi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reed takes a swing at Rinaldi's ribcage but misses. Reed has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Ben Reed is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rinaldi moves out of range of the body kick from Reed.
Reed goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Reed lands a head kick!
Rinaldi misses with a takedown and Reed counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Reed connects with a high kick. Reed stuffs the takedown attempt from Rinaldi. Rinaldi gets slowly back to his feet. Reed throws a low kick, looking for Rinaldi's leg but Rinaldi calmly moves out of range. Rinaldi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Reed throws an off balance right hand
and Rinaldi counters with a nice uppercut. Rinaldi slips a jab from Reed. Reed scores with a decent looking hook. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Reed misses with a wild body shot. Rinaldi swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Rinaldi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Reed fakes the leg kick and cracks Rinaldi in the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rinaldi tries to clinch enabling Reed to counter with a crisp jab. Reed throws a front kick that sends Rinaldi stumbling back into the cage. Reed throws an overhand right that lands on Rinaldi's shoulder, as Rinaldi tries to avoid the shot. Rinaldi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Reed defends it nicely. Rinaldi walks into a stiff left hand from Reed.
Sam Rinaldi's cut is getting worse. Rinaldi shoots in looking for a takedown but Reed manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rinaldi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Reed is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Rinaldi on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Reed connects with a leg kick. Rinaldi gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Rinaldi has his takedown stuffed and Reed counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rinaldi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Reed avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rinaldi's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Reed connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rinaldi scrambles back to his feet. Rinaldi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reed sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rinaldi somewhat. Rinaldi has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rinaldi there as he acknowledges the shot. Rinaldi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reed swivels and escapes. A little jabbing left from Reed on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Reed tests Rinaldi's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Sam Rinaldi's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Rinaldi takes a kick to the side of the head. Reed goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Rinaldi dives in and grabs Reed's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reed pushes down on Rinaldi's head and hops out. Reed feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rinaldis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Jeez, Sam Rinaldi's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reed looks to score with a jab to the body but Rinaldi is just out of range. Reed defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rinaldi. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Good shot there by Reed. Reed is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rinaldi darts in looking for a takedown but Reed gets double underhooks and turns Rinaldi into the cage. Rinaldi is breathing heavily. Horrible takedown attempt by Rinaldi or perhaps it was just good defense by Reed, which made it look bad. Reed scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rinaldi doesn't seem bothered though. Reed scores with a nice body kick.
Reed keeps Rinaldi at a distance using the push kick. Reed works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Rinaldi doesn't succeed with the takedown and Reed counters with a good, hard body kick but Rinaldi shrugs it off. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Reed lands a jab to the nose. Reed lands with a straight right. Rinaldi didn't see that one coming.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sam Rinaldi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ben Reed!
