Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Stroud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Abente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stroud comes to the cage accompanied by "Rock Superstar" by Cypress Hill. Luis Abente told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abente shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Abente showed some decent athleticism there.
Stroud is looking to control Abente's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stroud avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stroud tries to kick Abente off in order to stand up. Abente Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Stroud tries to buck Abente off but Abente is having none of it.
Stroud manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Stroud is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Abente is looking to improve his position.

Abente tries to bum rush Stroud with a series of wild strikes but Stroud uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Stroud changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Abente tries to avoid it but Stroud manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Abente to the ground. Abente escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stroud throws a head kick that Abente semi-blocks.

Stroud shoots in and bounces Abente off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Stroud is breathing heavily.
Abente wants to get back to his feet but Stroud is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abente has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stroud can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Stroud throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Abente's waist but Abente gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stroud off to one side.
Abente misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Abente counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Abente.
Stroud is pulling down on Abente's head to control his posture.
Stroud wants to sweep here but Abente controlling him for the moment.

Abente postures up in Stroud's guard and throws a big left but Stroud blocks it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stroud bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Abente's guard.

Luis Abente comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Abente has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
