Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Simon Poulter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rambo Lake !

Poulter closes the distance and clinches up with Lake , looking for a takedown. Poulter pushes Lake against the cage but Lake circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lake with the counter takedown but Poulter avoids it easily.
Lake throws a right and a left that Poulter avoids nicely.
Lake looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Poulter is fending him off so far but Lake persists. Nope, Poulter circles away and we're back to standing.
Poulter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Poulter wants it to stay on the feet.
Poulter throws a big counter combination but Lake scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Lake shoots in looking for a takedown. Poulter tries to sprawl out of it but Lake keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Poulter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lake can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lake wants to get back to his feet.
Lake is trying to improve his position.
Poulter tries to score with some ground and pound. Lake controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Poulter has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Poulter throws a head kick but Lake moves out of range.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Poulter throws a right and a left that Lake avoids nicely.

Poulter moves into the clinch.
Poulter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Poulter gets underhooks to prevent Lake 's takedown attempt.
Poulter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lake fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Poulter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lake looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lake throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Lake is looking to regain half guard here but Poulter keeps moving and retains side control.

Poulter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lake knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Poulter stands up and beckons Lake to his feet.

Lake is wriggling around but Poulter manages to pass to half guard.
Poulter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Poulter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Poulter looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Poulter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lake tries to get to full guard but Poulter has control of the leg.
Lake is trying to control but can't.

Poulter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lake circles away.
Lake tries to close the distance and clinch but Poulter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Lake shoots in for a double leg but Poulter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Poulter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lake avoids it really well and circles away.

Poulter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lake tries to avoid it but Poulter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lake to the ground. Lake escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Lake is staying active underneath Poulter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Lake wants to control but Poulter is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Poulter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lake can do to turn this around?

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Lake looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Poulter! Submission of the night perhaps?
