Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Boyko Kersikov (ranked 4502 p4p, 23411 weight class) and Eric Reid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric Reid will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boyko Kersikov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Reid! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kersikov takes one to the chin there. Reid looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Reid stuffs the takedown. Reid misses with a body kick. Kersikov clinches up with Reid and pushes him back against the cage. Kersikov is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Kersikov tries to pull guard but Reid won't allow it.

Reid is trying to break the clinch but Kersikov has him pressed against the cage. Kersikov wants to take the fight to the mat but Reid manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Reid stands up from guard. Let's bang! Reid connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kersikov. Kersikov circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Reid dodges the punch combination from Kersikov.

Kersikov lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Reid manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kersikov on his heels. He'll look to pass Kersikov's guard now, I'm sure. Reid won't allow Kersikov to sweep him here. Reid wants to stand but Kersikov is controlling his posture from full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kersikov is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kersikov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kersikov fails to land the takedown. Kersikov takes a swing at Reid's ribcage but misses. Kersikov shoots in but Reid avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nice takedown defense from Reid. No joy for Kersikov on that attempt. Kersikov closes the distance but Reid moves to the side and Reid counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reid tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Reid misses with the combination.
Kersikov darts in and clinches Reid up against the cage. Kersikov successfully pulls guard.
Kersikov is adopting a defensive guard. Kersikov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Kersikov trying to keep a closed guard but Reid is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kersikov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Reid is aware though and is defending well. Kersikov looking to control but Reid passes into half guard.
Kersikov on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Reid prevents Kersikov from improving his position. Kersikov wants to control but Reid is keeping busy and won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Eric Reid will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Kersikov shoots in for a takedown but Reid shows good takedown defense. Kersikov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kersikov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Reid is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Kersikov clinches up against the cage. Kersikov fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Reid is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Reid is breathing heavily. Reid is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Kersikov stalling in the clinch.

Kersikov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Reid scores with a nice head shot. Nice takedown defense from Reid. No joy for Kersikov on that attempt. A big left from Reid misses. Kersikov chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Reid preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kersikov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kersikov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kersikov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Reid wants to stand up but Kersikov is controlling him. Kersikov trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Boyko Kersikov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kersikov trying to control the position from guard on top but Reid is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kersikov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Reid is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Reid avoids a punch combination nicely.
Reid tries to counter with a clinch but Kersikov shakes him off and moves away. Kersikov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reid but Reid pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kersikov shoots in for a double leg but Reid sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kersikov swats away the attempt to clinch by Reid. Kersikov with a poor takedown letting Reid counter with a right hand. Kersikov feints and as Reid raises his hands in defense, Kersikov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kersikov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reid keeping full guard, as Kersikov tries to pass. Kersikov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Reid is looking to stand up but Kersikov isn't so interested in that idea. Reid keeping moving, preventing Kersikov from controlling successfully. Kersikov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Boyko Kersikov will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round! Kersikov shoots in looking for a takedown. Reid tries to sprawl out of it but Kersikov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reid manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Reid wants to clinch. Reid defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kersikov. A head kick misses from Kersikov. Reid slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reid looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Kersikov throws a head kick but Reid moves out of range.
As Kersikov backs off Reid throws a huge counter combo but Kersikov manages to avoid it all. Kersikov tries to clinch up and Reid cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
