Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Darren Jansen (ranked 4700 p4p, 4800 weight class) and Strawberry Short Cake (ranked 0 p4p, 208 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Short Cake closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jansen tries to roll over but Short Cake keeps him under control.

Jansen is concentrating on defense, preventing Short Cake from advancing position.
Short Cake is trying to control the action in half guard but Jansen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Short Cake closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Short Cake feints and as Jansen raises his hands in defense, Short Cake changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jansen is looking for a triangle but Short Cake pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Short Cake has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jansen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jansen is pushing down on Short Cake's leg trying to pass to half guard. Short Cake is fighting to maintain full guard but Jansen has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jansen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Short Cake for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Short Cake throws a leg kick but Jansen sees it coming and moves out of range.
Jansen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Short Cake tries to avoid it but Jansen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Short Cake to the ground. Short Cake escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jansen tries for a takedown but Short Cake sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Darren Jansen.
Well Short Cake has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
