Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rahim Lloyd (ranked 731 p4p, 1152 weight class) and Chanthaphone Southanouvong (ranked 96 p4p, 154 weight class). Lloyd comes into the arena with Killing in the Name of- Rage Against The Machine blaring out of the sound system. Southanouvong has chosen Y-U- Smilin as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Rahim Lloyd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chanthaphone Southanouvong! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.

Southanouvong throws an overhand right that lands on Lloyd's shoulder, as Lloyd tries to avoid the shot. Chanthaphone Southanouvong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Southanouvong looks to land a left hand but Lloyd moved out of range nicely. Lloyd tests Southanouvong's chin there with a solid looking shot. Lloyd is looking to clinch. Southanouvong looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Lloyd tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Southanouvong paws at him with a jab and circles away. Southanouvong looks like he wants to counter punch here. Southanouvong has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Southanouvong thows a left - swing and a miss! Southanouvong loads up on a big right hand but Lloyd slips the punch. A cross from Southanouvong lands. Lloyd uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Southanouvong. Southanouvong swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Lloyd slips a jab from Southanouvong. Southanouvong is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Southanouvong takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A slow jab from Southanouvong misses its intended target. Lloyd throws a quick counter head kick but Southanouvong was just out of range. Lloyd blocks a jab. Southanouvong misses with a hook. Lloyd ducked under it nicely. Southanouvong scores with the left hand. Lloyd knows he should have avoided that one. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A telegraphed right hand from Southanouvong misses the target. Lloyd is looking to counter punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Southanouvong throws an off balance right hand
and Lloyd cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Lloyd moves away from the strike by Southanouvong. Southanouvong cracks Lloyd with a good jab.
Lloyd is rocked! Lloyd moves forwards but Southanouvong connects with a nice, crisp jab. Oh Lloyd is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Southanouvong throws the left hand but Lloyd avoids the punch easily. Lloyd gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Southanouvong gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Lloyd is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chanthaphone Southanouvong! Chanthaphone Southanouvong took to the microphone after his victory and thanked his sponsors, Core Combat for their support in the buildup to the fight.
