Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Troy Hooper (ranked 1741 p4p, 1968 weight class) and Dylan Peterson (ranked 257 p4p, 284 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 37 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Troy Hooper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dylan Peterson! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson shoots in and drives through. Hooper sprawls well. Hooper swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hooper misses the jab. Hooper throws a jab when Peterson was well out of range. Peterson slips a straight right by Hooper. A countering left hand to the body from Peterson misses. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Peterson. Hooper moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. The fighters circle momentarily. Peterson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Peterson defending well as Hooper loads up on a big left hand. Hooper tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Peterson lands a lovely overhand right. Hooper drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Peterson throws the left hand but Hooper avoids the punch easily. A slow jab from Peterson misses its intended target. Hooper listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Peterson throws an overhand right that lands on Hooper's shoulder, as Hooper tries to avoid the shot. Hooper ducks right into an uppercut from Peterson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hooper blocks a jab. Hooper swings for the body but Peterson moves out of range.

and Hooper counters with a nice uppercut. Peterson cracks Hooper with a good jab. Nice shot by Hooper. Nice uppercut there from Hooper. Peterson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Peterson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hooper's head backwards. Hooper moves into range and connects with a jab. Peterson misses with an uppercut. Hooper saw that one coming. Hooper throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hooper gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Peterson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hooper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peterson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hooper somewhat. Peterson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hooper avoids it really well and circles away. Troy Hooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dylan Peterson. Hooper tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Peterson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hooper throws a lazy right hand but Peterson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hooper scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Hooper pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Nice cross by Hooper. Peterson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Peterson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Peterson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Peterson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

A swing and a miss from Peterson. Peterson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Peterson takes a shot right to the bread basket. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Peterson lands a two punch combo.
Hooper misses with a straight right. Hooper takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Hooper manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Peterson on his heels. He'll look to pass Peterson's guard now, I'm sure. Hooper landing with the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peterson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hooper gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Peterson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Peterson throws a big right hand that misses. Peterson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hooper seems keen to control Peterson's posture. Hooper trying to control the position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hooper connects with a nice short shot to Peterson's temple. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Troy Hooper. I think Hooper has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
