Ford throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Goncalves lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ford has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Ford feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Goncalves sprawling to the canvas! Goncalves rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ford finish him?!

Ford cracks Goncalves on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Goncalves falls backwards against the cage. Ford follows up with more strikes that drop Goncalves to his knees. Ford keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Goncalves! This one is all over!

Ed Ford was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
