6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tamil Figg Hoblyn! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hombre tries to bum rush Figg Hoblyn with a series of wild strikes but Figg Hoblyn uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Figg Hoblyn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hombre shoots in and bounces Figg Hoblyn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Figg Hoblyn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Hombre is looking to advance position but Figg Hoblyn has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Hombre tries to get back to half guard but can't. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Figg Hoblyn throws a lazy right hand but Hombre sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Figg Hoblyn moves in looking to clinch but Hombre pushes him off. Hombre tries for a takedown but Figg Hoblyn sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Donk. Figg Hoblyn catches Hombre right on the button with a cross. Hombre darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Herbert Hombre will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

It looks like Tamil Figg Hoblyn has been cut. Hombre bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Figg Hoblyn gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Hombre tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hombre postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hombre content just to control the position here. Figg Hoblyn is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Hombre controlling from mount.

Hombre might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Figg Hoblyn has a closed guard, preventing Hombre from standing up. Hombre stops Figg Hoblyn from standing up. Hombre connects with a couple of short punches. Hombre wants to pass the guard but Figg Hoblyn is keeping the position. Figg Hoblyn is trying to keep Hombre in close.
Figg Hoblyn is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Figg Hoblyn lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hombre not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Figg Hoblyn is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

Hombre has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Figg Hoblyn is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion.
