McGuire has chosen Jekyll And Hyde as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Don Johns had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Don Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mike McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns misses with an attempted mid kick.
Johns misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McGuire.
McGuire swats away the attempt to clinch by Johns.
McGuire replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Johns blocks it well.
Johns throws a body kick that misses.
Johns takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Johns just misses with a punch to the body.

McGuire fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Johns, pushing him back against the cage.
Johns fails to pull guard.
Johns looking to stall.
Come on McGuire - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Johns takes a shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGuire effectively controlling the action here.
Johns is trying to pull guard but McGuire turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
McGuire tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
McGuire managing to block the knees to the body from Johns.
McGuire gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Johns.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Johns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johns is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
McGuire lands a shoulder strike.
A frustrated look appears on Johns's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Johns takes a knee to the side of the body.
McGuire lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Johns tries to work over McGuire's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
McGuire blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
McGuire lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Johns is trying to maintain a safe position but McGuire gets an underhook and turns Johns into the cage.
McGuire lands a hook to the side of the head.
Johns is breathing heavily.

McGuire breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johns has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Johns throws out a loose jab but McGuire uses good head movement to avoid it.
Both fighters circling a little - McGuire finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Johns misses with a wild body shot.
McGuire scores with a leg kick.
McGuire lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McGuire staying out of range there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGuire cracks Johns with a right hand to the side of the head.
McGuire with the inside leg kick.
McGuire lands with a kick to the temple. Johns shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Don Johns has been cut.
Johns tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McGuire paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McGuire swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Johns tries to clinch but McGuire moves out of range.
McGuire scores with a kick to the midsection.
McGuire fakes the leg kick and cracks Johns in the body.
Johns throws a body kick that misses
and McGuire counters with a left right combination that sends Johns crashing to the mat - McGuire wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Johns out for a TKO! Devastating finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike McGuire!
Mike McGuire decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
