Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Billy Marques (ranked 2361 p4p, 3498 weight class) and Mikel Arteta (ranked 317 p4p, 430 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marques might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Raining Blood. Billy Marques has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Marques!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mikel Arteta!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

Marques tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Marques uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Arteta.
Marques throws a shot from downtown. Arteta moves away and avoids it.
Marques changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Arteta tries to avoid it but Marques manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Arteta to the ground. Arteta escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Marques gets cracked there but stands up to it.

It looked like Marques was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Arteta.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marques scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Arteta doesn't seem bothered though.
Marques shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Arteta's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Billy Marques will probably get the nod.

Billy Marques overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Arteta has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Marques should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Arteta has tightened it up now! Marques should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
