The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Belfort.
Maia shoots in looking for a takedown. Belfort tries to sprawl out of it but Maia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Belfort manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Belfort pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A left and a right from Belfort both land. Nice combination.
Belfort is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Maia scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Maia trying to control the action but Belfort is working from the bottom.
Maia thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Maia is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Belfort is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Maia swings around for an armbar but Belfort sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Maia's guard.

Maia is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Belfort rolls with it to try and escape but Maia cranks on the arm and Belfort is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
