Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steven Kennedy (ranked 1081 p4p, 1242 weight class) and Danny Wyadd (ranked 161 p4p, 186 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Kennedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Danny Wyadd!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.

A low kick from Kennedy misses
and Wyadd counters with a straight right hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kennedy. Wyadd does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wyadd throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kennedy lands a body shot.
Wyadd throws a hook but Kennedy blocks it.
Kennedy tries to counter with a takedown but Wyadd is quick to defend against it.
Wyadd throws a combination. Kennedy tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

and Wyadd counters with a stiff right hand.
Steven Kennedy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kennedy darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Wyadd keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kennedy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kennedy swings for the body but Wyadd moves out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've been hearing good reports from Kennedy's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Wyadd has his foot on Kennedy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kennedy works his way back into a safe position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wyadd utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kennedy lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kennedy postures up in Wyadd's guard and throws a big left but Wyadd blocks it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Steven Kennedy will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wyadd misses with a shot to the body
and Kennedy counters with a big head kick but Wyadd shrugs it off.
Kennedy tries to clinch up but Wyadd circles away and keeps his distance.
Kennedy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wyadd appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Wyadd looks to score with a jab to the body but Kennedy is just out of range.
Wyadd works Kennedy's body with a nice hook.
Kennedy avoids the head kick by Wyadd.
The fighters circling - Kennedy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kennedy moves away from the strike by Wyadd.
Wyadd blocks a low kick nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kennedy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wyadd has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kennedy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kennedy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kennedy is keen to just control but Wyadd is a slippery customer.

Kennedy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wyadd is just riding it out for now. Kennedy eventually gives up the hold.

Kennedy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wyadd swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kennedy is just content to waste time from the top position. Wyadd takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Wyadd wants to sweep here but Kennedy controlling him for the moment.

Wyadd is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Kennedy frees his head nicely. Oh but Wyadd has switched to an armbar! Kennedy is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
