Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monty Don (ranked 716 p4p, 1682 weight class) and Stig Lunde (ranked 103 p4p, 0 weight class). Monty Don has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Monty Don!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stig Lunde!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.

Lunde moves out of range of the strikes.
Lunde swings for the body but Don moves out of range.
Lunde looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Don misses with a takedown
and Lunde connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Don defending well as Lunde loads up on a big left hand.
Lunde keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Don.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Don lands with a hook. Lunde tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A shot to the body from Lunde misses
and Don counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lunde stuffs the takedown attempt from Don. Don gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lunde's jab looks to have found its range, popping Don under the eye.
Don steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lunde.
Don appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Don swings for the body but Lunde moves out of range.
Don misses with an uppercut.
Don lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Don catches Lunde with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Don throws out a loose jab but Lunde uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lunde moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Don tests Lunde's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Don misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Monty Don. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice defenses there by Don.
Lunde jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Don throws out a loose jab but Lunde uses good head movement to avoid it.
A little jabbing left from Lunde on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Don lands with a right hand.
Lunde looks to throw the jab but Don is out of range.
Lunde throws an overhand right that lands on Don's shoulder, as Don tries to avoid the shot.
Don changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Lunde misses with an uppercut
and Don counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Don.
Lunde looking to hit a scissor sweep but Don is one step ahead there.
Don slips nicely into half guard.
We've been hearing that Don has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Lunde is looking to escape.
Lunde really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Don. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Don is working for a submission of some sort.
Don is nestled in close to Lunde, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Lunde on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Lunde has hold of Don's hands but Don slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Don winds up and cracks Lunde with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Lunde is rocked!
Don lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Lunde quite badly. Lunde pulls Don in close trying to recover. Don postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Lunde on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Lunde doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Monty Don!
Our winner, Monty Don, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
