Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darry Curtis (ranked 1767 p4p, 1620 weight class) and Josh Morgan (ranked 219 p4p, 200 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Darry Curtis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Morgan! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Curtis misses with a looping right. Curtis looks to land a right hand but Morgan moved out of range. Curtis jabbing away but nothing is landing. Morgan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Curtis sees it coming and avoids it easily. We've been hearing reports that Curtis has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Morgan misses with a wild body shot. Morgan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Curtis. Morgan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Curtis manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Morgan keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Morgan. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Curtis lands a shoulder strike. Curtis working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Morgan's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Morgan working some nice short punches in the clinch. Morgan breaks the clinch.
Morgan looks to throw the jab but Curtis is out of range. Good leg kick by Curtis. Curtis takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
That's one minute gone in the round. Curtis throws a solid leg kick but Morgan takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Curtis. Curtis lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Curtis throws a wild body kick that Morgan sees coming a mile off. Morgan jabbing away but nothing is landing. Morgan lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Darry Curtis has been cut. Curtis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Morgan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Nice jab there from Curtis. Curtis thows a leg kick but Morgan checks it and Morgan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Curtis's guard. Curtis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Morgan on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Curtis tries to land a sweep but no joy. Morgan wants to control from the top but Curtis keeps moving. Curtis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Morgan is looking to work some ground and pound but Curtis has wrist control. Curtis looking for a sweep. Not yet Curtis, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morgan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Curtis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Morgan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Morgan distracts Curtis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Curtis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Morgan throws a big right hand that misses. Morgan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Curtis takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Curtis is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Morgan working the body and head with strikes. Morgan fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morgan working the ground and pound. Morgan throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Curtis takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Morgan scoring with punches and elbows. Morgan is looking to take a break and control but Curtis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Morgan misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Morgan creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Morgan is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Curtis is trying to escape and Morgan transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Curtis is forced to tap! Nice work there by Morgan! Very nice indeed!
