Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Silas VonRueden (ranked 2389 p4p, 4150 weight class) and James Kirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Kirk misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
VonRueden is looking to counter punch.
Kirk connects with a solid leg kick.

Kirk moves into the clinch successfully.

Kirk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A little feinted left hand from VonRueden on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Kirk rushes VonRueden and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kirk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
VonRueden has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Elite Underground Training Facility in the buildup to the fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kirk connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

It looks like Silas VonRueden has been cut.

Kirk swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by VonRueden.
Kirk lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

VonRueden gets a clinch.
VonRueden tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
VonRueden jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kirk walks away with a smile on his face. VonRueden gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
VonRueden tries to clinch up but Kirk circles away and keeps his distance.
Kirk is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Kirk moves into the clinch.
VonRueden is trying to pull guard but Kirk turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Silas VonRueden. That's going to take a lot out of him.

VonRueden might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

VonRueden has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kirk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

VonRueden doesn't manage to clinch there - Kirk circles away.

VonRueden tries to pull guard but Kirk forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
VonRueden could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kirk manages to break the clinch.
Kirk lunges at VonRueden with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by VonRueden's hand.

Kirk has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Kirk rushes VonRueden and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kirk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kirk closes the distance and pushes VonRueden back into the cage.
VonRueden tries to pull guard but Kirk holds him up against the cage and eventually VonRueden drops back down to his feet.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Kirk.
Kirk lands a shoulder strike.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kirk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kirk closes the distance and clinches.
VonRueden fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Kirk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A jab from Kirk finds it's way through VonRueden's defenses.

Silas VonRueden's cut is getting worse.

Kirk instigates a clinch.
Kirk gets through VonRueden's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Kirk dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

A shot to the liver by Kirk. Beautiful body shot.
Kirk drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks VonRueden right on the button. VonRueden goes down! Kirk follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Kirk gets the win via TKO!

A very excited looking James Kirk rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
