Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Halo Shono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Halo Shono! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Lee! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shono clinches. Lee misses with an elbow strike.
Shono takes an elbow to the forehead. Shono tries to stall but Lee uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Shono pulls Lee into guard.
Lee scoring with punches to the head and body. Lee trying to control but Shono is working from the bottom. Lee throwing strikes but missing. Lee tries to stand but Shono is controlling from the bottom. Lee with a flurry of punches that miss. Shono had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lee is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Shono Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lee's back instead. Lee trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee holding both Shono 's hands and preventing any damage. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Lee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lee trying to control the position but Shono manages to sink in the hooks. Lee tries to escape the position.
Shono tries to get the hooks in deep but Lee pushed the leg off. Lee is in bad spot here.
Lee turns into Shono and is now in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lee is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Shono controls Lee momentarily but Lee frees himself. Lee wants to control from the top but Shono keeps moving. Lee thows a big elbow that misses. Lee wants to control from the top but Shono keeps moving. Lee looks gassed! Lee scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Shono keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Shono wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Shono circles away from the clinch attempt and Shono counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Shono. Shono gets control of Lee's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shono will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Lee wants to control from the top but Shono keeps moving. Lee in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Shono not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Shono trying to keep a closed guard but Lee is proving a slippery customer.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lee avoids the head kick by Shono.
Shono closes the distance and clinches. Lee has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shono is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Shono manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Halo Shono dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Shono tries to clinch up but Lee circles away and keeps his distance. Shono misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lee drives through with a takedown into guard. Shono pulls Lee in close to prevent any damage. Shono looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Lee stands and steps away. Shono gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Lee lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Shono swats away the attempt to clinch by Lee. Lee wants to clinch and Shono moves into the clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee breaks from the clinch.

Lee clinches but Shono breaks the clinch and Shono moves into the clinch. Lee has Shono pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Shono manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. A battle for position here, against the ropes. Shono creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Lee's defenses. Lee throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Shono is trying to maintain a safe position but Lee gets an underhook and turns Shono into the ropes. Shono tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lee connects with a nasty looking knee right to Shono's face.
Shono lands a nice knee to the body. Shono leaning against his opponent.
Lee swings wildly with an uppercut but Shono uses good head movement to avoid it. Shono is pressed up against the ropes. Lee has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shono down to the mat. Shono avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee throws a leg kick and Shono decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lee's guard. Shono stays in close to Lee's body and controls the position. Lee is looking to sweep but instead, Shono has passed into half guard.
Lee manages to get to full guard.
Lee trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Lee is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Shono is controlling him. Lee trying to strike off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shono gets to his feet. Lee looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Lee closes the distance looking to clinch and Shono counters with a big head kick but Lee shrugs it off. Lee throws a right hand that Shono ducks under and follows up with a left that Shono also avoids with ease. Shono fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lee sprawls well initially but Shono persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Lee missing with punches from the bottom.
Lee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Shono stops Lee from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee landing rabbit punches to the side of Shono's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points. Lee wants to get back to his feet.
Lee is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Lee is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Shono jumps into side control! Lee tries to improve position but can't.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Shono shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but Shono keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lee shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shono as he jumps to the side. Halo Shono has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Lee. Lee is looking to clinch. Lee wants to clinch but Shono slips to the side and Shono counters by clinching up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Halo Shono dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Lee has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Shono clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Shono tries to break free.
Shono trying to control the hands but Lee won't let him. Lee missing with strikes. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lee is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Shono wants to control his opponent's hands but Lee gets his hands free.
That's one minute gone in the round. Halo Shono overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lee scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Lee is controlling the position but Shono somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Lee thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shono's head. Shono has one foot on Lee's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Lee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Shono misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Shono wants to clinch. Jay Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lee fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Shono stuffs the takedown attempt from Lee. Lee gets slowly back to his feet. Shono throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Shono throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Lee fails with the takedown and Shono counters with a nice double leg into guard. Halo Shono has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Lee. Lee is trying to keep Shono in close.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Shono lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Lee looking for a guillotine here but Shono defends easily.

And that's the end of the fight! Halo Shono showed his dominance in that final round. Well Shono has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
