Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Martin (ranked 4800 p4p, 4702 weight class) and Steven Seagul (ranked 498 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

and Seagul takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Martin works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Seagul is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Martin presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Jorge Martin will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

As Seagul looks to move away, Martin throws a big counter combo but Seagul just gets out of the way.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Martin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Martin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Seagul can't fight it off and eventually Martin manages to take the fight to the floor. Seagul looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

As Seagul tries to get set, Martin tries to push him back and clinch up but Seagul manages to avoid the attempt.
Seagul pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Martin back to the cage. Seagul follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
