Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erasmo Bezerra (ranked 4241 p4p, 4383 weight class) and Jason Sierra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Sierra will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

Bezerra takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Sierra stalks Bezerra and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bezerra's face. Bezerra staggers backwards, shaken.
Sierra stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sierra wants it to stay on the feet.
Sloppy strikes from Sierra. Those never looked like landing.
Sierra lands a nice looking body shot.
Bezerra shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sierra scores with a jab. Bezerra acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Sierra cracks Bezerra with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Sierra scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Bezerra is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A combination from Sierra does no damage.

Sierra gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bezerra to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Bezerra drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bezerra jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Sierra has momentary wrist control but Bezerra slips an elbow through the middle.

Sierra has his feet on Bezerra's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Sierra keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Sierra throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sierra tries to bum rush Bezerra with a series of wild strikes but Bezerra uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sierra misses with a series of wild punches.
Bezerra shoots in for a takedown but Sierra shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erasmo Bezerra. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bezerra decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bezerra is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sierra sees it coming and defends easily.
Bezerra takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Bezerra is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sierra has managed to free his arm - good work.

Bezerra is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Sierra is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Erasmo Bezerra!
A relieved looking Erasmo Bezerra thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
