Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jose Markes (ranked 2976 p4p, 4117 weight class) and Project Cd (ranked 165 p4p, 197 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Markes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Project Cd! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.

Cd scores with a punch to the head. Markes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cd. Cd swings widly with a right hand
and Markes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Markes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cd takes a swing at Markes's ribcage but misses. Donk. Markes catches Cd right on the button with a cross. Markes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cd throws out the jab. Markes appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Markes throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Cd misses with a looping right. Markes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Markes lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Markes fails with the takedown enabling Cd to counter with a crisp jab. Cd moves out of range as Markes strikes. Cd digs a good hook to Markes's body.
Cd throws a lazy right hand but Markes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Markes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cd circles away quickly and effectively. Markes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cd. Cd lands with a shot to the body. Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
That's one minute gone in the round. A swing and a miss from Cd. Nice defenses there by Markes. Cd's corner calls for a 1-2. Cd obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. A slow jab from Cd misses its intended target. A jab lands there for Markes. Cd blocks a head kick by Markes.
Cd throws a hook but Markes avoids it easily. Cd throws a body shot but no joy. Cd lands with a nice body punch. Markes tries to close the distance and clinch but Cd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Markes misses with a few strikes there.
Cd now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Markes takes one to the chin there. Cd ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Cd listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cd misses with an uppercut. Markes tries to counter by clinching up but Cd breaks away and moves out of range. Markes has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Alpha Brasil in the buildup to the fight. Jose Markes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A cross from Cd lands. Cd misses the shot to the body. Cd swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Markes throws a jab but it's blocked by Cd.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cd jabbing away but nothing is landing. Cd throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cd walks into a stiff left hand from Markes. Markes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Markes fails in his attempt to clinch. Cd takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Cd throws a shot from downtown. Markes moves away and avoids it. Markes on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Markes takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Cd lands a body shot.
A lazy left from Markes finds it's target. Markes tries to close the distance and clinch but Cd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Cd avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Markes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cd manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Markes takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Markes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Cd staying out of range there. A jab from Cd misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cd throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Markes sizes up Cd with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Markes is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Cd is rocked! Markes takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Cd is still on wobbly legs! Can Markes finish him? Markes staying out of range there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Markes drops Cd with a huge uppercut! Cd drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Markes is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
