Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Serra (ranked 3720 p4p, 4500 weight class) and Kaden Cottrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ethan Serra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kaden Cottrell! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cottrell forces Serra back against the cage and clinches. Cottrell is trying to force a seperation but Serra has the dominant position. Cottrell tries to pull guard but Serra forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Cottrell lands a left hand that snaps the head of Serra backwards. Serra really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Cottrell has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Serra avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Serra breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Serra shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cottrell napping and manages to drive through into side control! Cottrell is trying to improve his position. Cottrell is not content to let Serra control the position. Serra decides to stand back up. Serra avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cottrell tries to clinch but Serra is having none of it. Cottrell fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ethan Serra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaden Cottrell. Serra with a poor takedown and Cottrell counters with a head kick. Cottrell avoids the head kick by Serra.
Serra lands a body shot.
Serra displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cottrell. The fight moves into the clinch position. Cottrell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Serra to keep the fight standing. Cottrell wants a takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Serra pulls guard effortlessly. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Serra is pulling down on Cottrell's head to control his posture. Cottrell preventing the sweep. Serra will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Cottrell distracts Serra with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Serra keeping moving, preventing Cottrell from controlling successfully. Cottrell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cottrell controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cottrell stops Serra from standing up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Serra leaves Cottrell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Serra tries to counter with a takedown but Cottrell is quick to defend against it. Cottrell throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Cottrell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Cottrell looks winded! Serra shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Cottrell eats them both and turns towards Serra to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Serra shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cottrell sprawls well. Cottrell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Serra gets slowly back to his feet. Serra rushes Cottrell and presses him up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Serra has Cottrell pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Serra pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Cottrell tumbling to the mat - Serra dives into Cottrell's guard. Serra slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Serra stands and steps away. Cottrell gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cottrell shoots in looking for a takedown but Serra manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cottrell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ethan Serra dominated that round. That's time! Serra's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Serra instigates a clinch. Serra manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Cottrell stopping the sweep attempt from Serra. Serra looking to control.
Cottrell wants to pass the guard but Serra is keeping the position. Serra is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Serra is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Serra is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Serra throws a big elbow that misses. Cottrell working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Serra has passed into half guard!
Cottrell wants to control but Serra is keeping busy.

Cottrell is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Serra pulls his head out easily. Cottrell is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Serra is taking a breather. Cottrell says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Cottrell wants to improve his position but Serra is controlling well.
Serra is looking to take a break and control but Cottrell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Serra keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Cottrell takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Nice takedown defense from Cottrell. No joy for Serra on that attempt. Cottrell changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Serra throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cottrell tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Serra is in Cottrell's guard. Cottrell is pulling down on Serra's head. It's preventing any offense from Serra, at least for the moment. Cottrell has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Serra has passed into side control.
Serra decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cottrell to his feet. Cottrell slaps away a takedown attempt from Serra, before circling back to the center of the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Serra fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ethan Serra. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cottrell moves in looking to clinch but Serra pushes him off. Serra is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cottrell can do to turn this around? Cottrell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Serra fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Cottrell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Serra. Cottrell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Serra breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cottrell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Serra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ethan Serra dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Serra fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Cottrell shoots in but no luck this time. Serra changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cottrell tries to avoid it but Serra manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cottrell to the ground. Cottrell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cottrell gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Serra counters with a stiff right hand. Cottrell doesn't manage to clinch there - Serra circles away.
Cottrell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Serra sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cottrell somewhat. Ethan Serra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaden Cottrell. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cottrell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Serra's waist but Serra gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cottrell off to one side. Cottrell keeps the fight on the outside. Cottrell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cottrell tries to keep at a distance but Serra has taken the fight into the clinch. Cottrell takes a shot to the head. Cottrell stalling in the clinch but Serra improves position. Serra breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Serra shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cottrell pinned against the cage. Cottrell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Serra lands a high kick!
Serra changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cottrell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Serra taking a breather here. Cottrell wants to get back to his feet but Serra drags him back down. Serra tries to advance to mount but can't. Serra wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cottrell keeps working. Cottrell pushes Serra away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Serra gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cottrell tries to bench press Serra off him but Serra keeps the position. Cottrell is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Cottrell closes the distance and clinches. Cottrell is pushing Serra up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Serra will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Cottrell up against the cage. Cottrell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cottrell lands with a nice body punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Serra tries for a takedown but Cottrell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice sprawl there from Serra as Cottrell shoots in. Cottrell fails with a takedown attempt. Cottrell misses with an uppercut
and Serra counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Serra. Serra escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cottrell is defended easily by Serra. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Serra dives in and grabs Cottrell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cottrell pushes down on Serra's head and hops out. Kaden Cottrell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ethan Serra is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Serra avoids the head kick by Cottrell.
Serra wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Ethan Serra showed his dominance in that final round. Well Serra has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
