Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Battle Avatar (ranked 893 p4p, 1107 weight class) and David McDonald (ranked 128 p4p, 160 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Battle Avatar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David McDonald! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McDonald throws a combination. Avatar tries to block but a couple of punches get through. McDonald throws a sloppy head kick and Avatar moves out of range easily. As McDonald backs away, Avatar returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. McDonald lands a nice shot to the body.

and McDonald counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Avatar with a hook. Avatar throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. McDonald throws a body shot but no joy. A little feinted left hand from Avatar on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. McDonald throws a sloppy head kick and Avatar moves out of range easily. McDonald wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McDonald misses with a jab to the body
and Avatar counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big right from Avatar misses. A punch lands to the side of McDonald 's head but he takes it in his stride. McDonald goes for a high kick. It partially lands. McDonald throws a push kick but Avatar slaps the foot to one side. It looked like Avatar wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. McDonald looks to land a combination but Avatar avoids it well. McDonald scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Avatar fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McDonald has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. McDonald tries a head kick but it misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. McDonald throws a head kick but Avatar moves out of range.
Avatar swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Avatar takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Avatar definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Avatar takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A head kick by McDonald misses and Avatar counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like David McDonald has been cut. McDonald throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
An attempted straight right counter from Avatar misses the target. McDonald ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. McDonald now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Avatar feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends McDonald sprawling to the canvas! McDonald rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Avatar finish him?!
McDonald is rocked! Avatar fakes the body blow, causing McDonald to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! McDonald goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
