Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Darren Jansen (ranked 6652 p4p, 3754 weight class) and Jimmy John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darren Jansen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy John! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.

John stalling. John wants to free his trapped foot but Jansen is holding on for dear life with his legs. John seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. John wants to pass the guard but Jansen is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Jansen wants to control but John is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jansen is pressing down on John's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Jansen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. John defends it easily. Jansen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. John doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. John manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. John slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Let's hope that John has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Jansen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but John defends well and Jansen ends up having to push John into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Jansen is trying hard to land a takedown here. John sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jansen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and John counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Jansen. That's going to take a lot out of him. John remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Jansen tries to buck John off but John is having none of it.

John's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. John is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jansen is surviving well by controlling John's body position as best he can. Jansen is working to get back to half guard.
John tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! More stalling from John. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jansen can't do much from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jansen is trying to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Jansen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. John controls the position. Jansen is not content to let John control the position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. John in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jansen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. John tries to avoid it but Jansen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag John to the ground. John escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Nice sprawl there from Jansen as John shoots in. Jansen tries for a takedown but John circles away easily and John counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jansen won't be happy with that. John moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. John tries to advance position but instead Jansen slips a leg back in to half guard. John is thwarting Jansen's attempts to control the position.

John takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jansen is trying to control but can't.

Jimmy John showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! John dives in for a single leg takedown but Jansen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Jansen shoots in but John avoids the takedown attempt easily. John shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Jansen looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jimmy John has got the better of the ground game so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. John is trying to control. Jansen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. John is controlling the pace.

John is figuring out what he wants to do next. John wants to work for an arm triangle but Jansen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

And that's the end of the fight! Jimmy John comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well John has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
