PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Strike Zombie (ranked 4748 p4p, 24229 weight class) and Bad Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bad Fighter will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Strike Zombie !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bad Fighter!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.

Zombie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fighter sprawls well initially but Zombie persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Fighter manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Zombie keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Zombie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Zombie rushes Fighter and presses him up against the cage.

Zombie turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Zombie manages to end up in side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zombie moves into full mount!
Zombie tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fighter is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Zombie sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Zombie has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zombie throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Zombie looking to control and managing it successfully.
Fighter wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Zombie .
Zombie working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Zombie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zombie cracks Fighter with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Fighter wants to get back to his feet.
Zombie sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Zombie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Fighter has worked his arm free - good work by Fighter!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Zombie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Zombie moves into range and clinches up with Fighter.
Fighter wants to get back to striking at distance but Zombie won't allow it.
Zombie wants a takedown.

Zombie 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Zombie gets a takedown into half guard.
Fighter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zombie . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fighter trying to hold on to Zombie 's head to control him but Zombie postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Zombie decides to return to a standing position.
Fighter looks to score with a jab to the body but Zombie is just out of range.
As Fighter looks to move away, Zombie throws a big counter combo but Fighter just gets out of the way.

Zombie rushes Fighter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Strike Zombie dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Fighter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Zombie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And Fighter tries to counter it with a takedown but Zombie pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Strike Zombie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Zombie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fighter to the mat! Fighter manages to get full guard.
Zombie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Zombie .

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter working a defensive guard here.
Zombie throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Zombie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fighter can do to turn this around?
Zombie controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Fighter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zombie but Zombie pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Zombie circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Fighter drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Zombie follows Fighter to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Strike Zombie !
