Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Scott Trip (ranked 4023 p4p, 24182 weight class) and Alan Oh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Trip has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Trip! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alan Oh! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trip closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Oh to the mat! Oh manages to get full guard. Trip trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Oh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Trip really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Oh working for a triangle but Trip defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Oh controls Trip momentarily but Trip frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Oh had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Trip defends it easily. Oh keeping full guard, as Trip tries to pass. Trip slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Oh is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Trip is controlling him.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oh shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Oh takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Nice takedown defense from Oh. No joy for Trip on that attempt. Trip looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Trip shoots in but Oh avoids the takedown attempt easily. Trip throws a head kick that misses. Trip lands a nice hook to Oh's body. Oh takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Oh looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Trip moves in looking to clinch but Oh pushes him off. Oh shoots in for a double leg but Trip sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Scott Trip has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Oh.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trip fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Oh to the ground. Trip is now in Oh's guard. Oh had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Trip defends it easily. Trip controls from within his opponent's guard. Trip stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oh swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Trip not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Trip dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Oh is trying hard to land a takedown here. Trip sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Trip forces Oh back against the cage and clinches. Trip is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Oh can do to turn this around? Trip goes for a takedown in the clinch but Oh prevents it.
Trip wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Trip is trying to pull guard but Oh has him pressed against the cage. Trip pulls guard effortlessly. Trip has his foot on Oh's thigh. Oh trying to control the position from guard on top but Trip is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Trip wants to stand up but Oh is controlling him.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Oh shoots in for a takedown but Trip shows good takedown defense. Oh has his takedown stuffed and Trip counters with a stiff right hand. Scott Trip has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Oh.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Oh shoots for a double leg takedown but Trip sprawls well. He's pushed Oh's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A little feinted left hand from Trip on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Trip closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Oh's guard. Oh bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Trip's guard. Oh slips nicely into half guard. Trip is trying to maintain the position but Oh is very close to passing his half guard. Trip is trying to get back to full guard. Oh wants to take a breather but Trip is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oh not landing any meaningful shots this time. Oh blocks the strikes from Trip.
Trip is looking to control Oh's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Trip avoid being mounted? Trip avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Oh. Trip throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Trip is trying to get back to full guard. Trip has one foot on Oh's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Trip tries to close the distance and clinch but Oh swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fight moves into the clinch position. Oh jumps guard but Trip stands there with Oh around his waist. Oh gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Oh tries for a takedown. No joy.

Oh fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Trip manages to pull guard.
Trip keeping full guard, as Oh tries to pass. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Trip is pulling down on Oh's head. It's preventing any offense from Oh, at least for the moment. Trip working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Oh has passed into half guard!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Trip dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Trip fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Oh is out of range. Oh wants to clinch. Trip wants to clinch and Oh makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Oh shoots in for a takedown but Trip shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Trip tries to clinch there but Oh circles away.
Oh is looking for the big counter here. Trip throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oh moves into the clinch. Stalling in the clinch from Oh.
Oh changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Trip fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Trip lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trip shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Oh is trying to defend but Trip finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Oh makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Trip closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Oh did well to prevent Trip getting side control. Oh manages to escape and get back to his feet! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Horrible takedown attempt by Oh or perhaps it was just good defense by Trip, which made it look bad. Scott Trip has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Oh. Trip throws a head kick but Oh moves out of range.
Oh is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trip drives through with a takedown into Oh's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Trip will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Trip postures up.
Scott Trip overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Oh wants to sweep but no luck. Trip trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Oh looking to control.
Trip has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Oh has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Trip can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Oh takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Oh keeping full guard, as Trip tries to pass. Oh is trying to keep Trip in close.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Scott Trip is winning the standup battle so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oh shoots in for a double leg but Trip sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. As Oh tries to get set, Trip tries to push him back and clinch up but Oh manages to avoid the attempt. Oh swats away the attempt to clinch by Trip. Oh has a takedown stuffed. Oh circles away from the clinch attempt.
Oh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Trip but Trip pushes him off and we're back to square one. Trip shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Trip was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Trip remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oh is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Oh managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Trip.
Oh tries to bench press Trip off him but Trip keeps the position. Trip takes a little break here. Oh wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Alan Oh has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Scott Trip is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Trip knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Oh on the ground. Oh prevents Trip from moving into mount.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Scott Trip. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Trip, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
