Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bre Erskraquer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Denubis Majere! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Erskraquer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Majere's waist but Majere gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Erskraquer off to one side. Majere has Erskraquer up against the cage in a clinch.
Majere scores with a nice hook to the head. Erskraquer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Majere gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Erskraquer is trying to break the clinch but Majere is controlling him. Majere prevents Erskraquer from breaking the clinch. Erskraquer has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Majere uses from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Erskraquer has control of Majere's left arm, preventing Majere from doing any damage. Majere pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Erskraquer is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Erskraquer looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Erskraquer keeping full guard, as Majere tries to pass. Majere stands and throws Erskraquer's legs to the side, diving into side control. Majere working away. Majere is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Erskraquer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Majere thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Majere tries to advance to mount but can't. Erskraquer is looking for a sweep. Majere works to advance to full mount. Erskraquer defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Majere looking to secure an arm triangle but Erskraquer defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Majere with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Majere working for a submission but Erskraquer is keeping him at bay. Majere looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Majere looking for a guillotine from mount but Erskraquer is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Majere working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Erskraquer turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Majere off and cradles Erskraquer's limp body as Majere celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Denubis Majere! A relieved looking Denubis Majere thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
