Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Iikka Nikkinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shitty Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Aoki's choice of entrance music: Suck My Dick Song. Iikka Nikkinen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Shitty Aoki's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Iikka Nikkinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shitty Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikkinen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Aoki swivels and escapes.

Aoki drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Aoki trying to control the position but Nikkinen is working away.

Aoki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nikkinen, who protects the arm well.
Nikkinen is looking to regain half guard here but Aoki keeps moving and retains side control.
Nikkinen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aoki on the ground.
Aoki tries to advance position but instead Nikkinen slips a leg back in to half guard.

Aoki wants to work for an arm triangle but Nikkinen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are battling for position here. Nikkinen manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Nikkinen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nikkinen fakes the leg kick and cracks Aoki in the body.

Nikkinen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Nikkinen wants to work for an arm triangle but Aoki is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Aoki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Nikkinen is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Aoki has managed to free his arm - good work.
Nikkinen is trying to control. Aoki wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Aoki tries to get to full guard but Nikkinen has control of the leg.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Aoki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nikkinen is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Nikkinen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Aoki's guard.

Aoki had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nikkinen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Aoki Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nikkinen's back instead.
Will Aoki go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Nikkinen rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Nikkinen is trying to stand up here but Aoki is controlling him well.

Aoki is looking to advance position but Nikkinen won't allow it.
Aoki prevents Nikkinen from improving his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Nikkinen moves into range and clinches up with Aoki.
Aoki fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Nikkinen ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nikkinen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Nikkinen controls Aoki momentarily but Aoki frees himself.

Aoki postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nikkinen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Aoki, into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Iikka Nikkinen dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Aoki just misses with a punch to the body.
Iikka Nikkinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nikkinen clinches up against the ropes.

Nikkinen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Aoki uses from the top position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nikkinen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Aoki drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nikkinen manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Aoki has Nikkinen in his guard.

Aoki looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Aoki is breathing heavily.
Nikkinen postures up in Aoki's guard and throws a big left but Aoki blocks it.
Aoki is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nikkinen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Aoki trying to mount his opponent but Nikkinen defends it.
Nikkinen wants to control but Aoki is keeping busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Nikkinen is staying active underneath Aoki, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Aoki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nikkinen sees it coming and defends easily.
Nikkinen is trying to maintain the position but Aoki is very close to passing his half guard.
Nikkinen tries to kick Aoki off but Aoki keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Nikkinen gets back to full guard.
Nikkinen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Aoki gets caught flat footed, as Nikkinen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Aoki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nikkinen is one step ahead there.

Nikkinen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Aoki looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Nikkinen is defending well. Aoki quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Nikkinen has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Aoki celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
