Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zhang Jun (ranked 751 p4p, 961 weight class) and Paw Paw Udomprecha (ranked 51 p4p, 67 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Udomprecha's choice of entrance music: Danger. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Zhang Jun! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Paw Paw Udomprecha! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jun has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jun lands with a light punch inside. Udomprecha lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. I was talking to Jun's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Jun tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Udomprecha. A short left from Jun. Jun makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Jun blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jun jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Udomprecha walks away with a smile on his face. Jun gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Udomprecha lands a glancing blow to the side of Jun's head. Udomprecha throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Udomprecha counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jun's knee momentarily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jun shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zhang Jun. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jun uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Udomprecha. Jun takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Udomprecha attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Jun tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Udomprecha counters with a nice leg kick. Udomprecha punishes Jun's body with a nice straight punch. Udomprecha lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Udomprecha jabbing away but nothing is landing. Udomprecha throws a push kick but Jun slaps the foot to one side. Udomprecha avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Udomprecha lands a leg kick that knocks Jun off balance momentarily. Jun forces Udomprecha back against the cage and clinches. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Jun. Udomprecha tries a body shot but Jun blocks it.

Udomprecha tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jun's elbow. Udomprecha working aggressively here.
A short uppercut from Jun. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A short right from Jun on the inside. Jun lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. The referee is keeping an eye on Jun - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Jun manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Jun has an active guard here but Udomprecha has managed to pass into half guard.
Jun is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Udomprecha pulls his head out easily. Udomprecha takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Udomprecha seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jun does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Udomprecha is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jun is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Udomprecha pulls his head out easily. Jun makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jun. Jun has his foot on Udomprecha's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Udomprecha works his way back into a safe position though. Udomprecha is stalling in the full guard. Udomprecha trying to control but Jun is working from the bottom. Udomprecha avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Udomprecha got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jun has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Udomprecha has managed to get both his arms back between Jun's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Paw Paw Udomprecha will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Udomprecha fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jun manages to avoid it. Udomprecha throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jun on the side of the head. Udomprecha tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jun was well out of range. Poor timing from Udomprecha. Udomprecha scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Jun shoots in looking for a takedown. Udomprecha tries to sprawl out of it but Jun keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Udomprecha manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jun takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Udomprecha missing with a left hand there. Jun was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Nice jab there from Jun.

On like donkey kong! Paw Paw Udomprecha is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Udomprecha scores with a body shot.
Jun throws a body shot but no joy. Jun takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Zhang Jun seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Udomprecha connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Udomprecha has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Udomprecha circles away from the clinch attempt.
Udomprecha flicks out a counter leg kick but Jun steps away. Jun throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Udomprecha sees it coming and avoids it easily. Udomprecha is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Jun looks for a takedown but Udomprecha sprawls well. Udomprecha has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jun tries to clinch and Udomprecha counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Udomprecha throws a shot to the body.

Jun tries to close the distance and clinch but Udomprecha swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Udomprecha keeps the fight on the outside. Jun walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Udomprecha connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jun's hands. Jun shoots in for a double leg but Udomprecha sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Udomprecha is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Jun with a body shot. Jun bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Paw Paw Udomprecha showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round! Udomprecha throws a nice outside leg kick. Jun tries to clinch but Udomprecha moves away and Udomprecha counters with a slapping leg kick. Jun tries to clinch but Udomprecha moves out of range. Jun has closed the distance and engaged Udomprecha in a clinch.

Jun lands a hook that snaps the head of Udomprecha backwards. Jun misses with a short punch on the inside. Jun is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Jun swings away with an uppercut that misses.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jun tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Udomprecha just stands there and leans against the cage. Jun manages to pull guard.

Udomprecha controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Jun is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jun is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Udomprecha rolls with it to try and escape but Jun cranks on the arm and Udomprecha is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
