PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Efrem Davydov (ranked 4222 p4p, 5671 weight class) and William Jaktic (ranked 445 p4p, 523 weight class). Davydov kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bop - Mr Credo. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Efrem Davydov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Jaktic!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Francis DeMontford and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jaktic moves into the clinch successfully.

Davydov gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davydov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jaktic is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We've been told by Davydov's head coaches at St Petersburg MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Davydov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jaktic manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jaktic is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Davydov is controlling him.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Jaktic manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Davydov is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jaktic can't fight it off and eventually Davydov manages to take the fight to the floor. Jaktic looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jaktic bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Davydov's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Jaktic is fighting to break Davydov's control of his arms but Davydov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Davydov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jaktic is just riding it out for now. Davydov eventually gives up the hold.

Davydov has Jaktic pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Davydov pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Jaktic tumbling to the mat - Davydov dives into Jaktic's guard.

Davydov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jaktic knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Davydov decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jaktic to his feet.

William Jaktic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jaktic clinches.

Jaktic has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Davydov clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Davydov wants to control his opponent's hands but Jaktic gets his hands free.

A very excited looking Efrem Davydov rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
