Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Claudio Puelles (ranked 5484 p4p, 5909 weight class) and Dennis Rollins (ranked 579 p4p, 594 weight class). Dennis Rollins told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Claudio Puelles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Rollins!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.

Puelles attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Puelles throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Rollins counter with a right hand.
Puelles drops his hands momentarily and Rollins takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The fighters circling - Rollins throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Rollins's coach down at The Scrap Squad was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rollins's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Rollins thuds his right hand into Puelles's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
We've been told by Puelles's head coaches at LA Wellness Centre that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Puelles takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Rollins jabs Puelles right on the nose. Puelles blinks but takes it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Puelles misses with an uppercut. Rollins saw that one coming.
Rollins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Puelles was well out of range. Poor timing from Rollins.
Puelles half committed to a counter leg kick.
Rollins paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Rollins lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Puelles takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Rollins is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Puelles had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Puelles throws a lazy right hand but Rollins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Puelles might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Dennis Rollins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Puelles looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Dennis Rollins comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rollins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
