The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Galanos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Grappler is looking for a sweep.
Galanos has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Galanos content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Galanos is looking to take a break and control but Grappler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grappler stops Galanos from passing to mount.

Grappler sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Grappler has a hand on Galanos's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Galanos takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Grappler slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Galanos passes the guard and advances to mount!

Grappler tries to control Galanos's body but Galanos pushes him off. Grappler squirms to his side and now Galanos has his back!

Grappler wants to escape the position.

Grappler is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Grappler can't escape the position.

Galanos struggling to keep hold of the position.
Grappler trying to control the hands but Galanos won't let him.
You can see the frustration on Grappler's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Grappler staying busy and making it hard for Galanos to control.
Galanos is trying to stick to Grappler's back but Grappler is turning into Galanos. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Galanos's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Grappler.

Galanos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Galanos looking for a guillotine here but Grappler defends easily.
Grappler trying to control but Galanos is working from the bottom.
Grappler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Galanos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Galanos pulls Grappler in close to prevent any damage.
Grappler is looking to advance position but Galanos has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Grappler gets back to half guard.
Galanos uses his free foot to push down on Grappler's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Grappler.

Galanos looking to control but Grappler is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Grappler is trying desperately to improve position.
Galanos works his way to his opponent's back.

Galanos looking to break Grappler's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Grappler remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Galanos will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
I really don't envy Grappler right now.

Galanos has the hooks in. Grappler is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Galanos passes his arm under Grappler's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Grappler taps!
