Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shako Hachi (ranked 22682 p4p, 1316 weight class) and Fernando Martinez (ranked 197 p4p, 52 weight class). Hachi comes to the cage accompanied by Everybody’s Gotta Live, Everybody’s Gonna Die. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shako Hachi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fernando Martinez! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.

and Martinez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hachi throws a good cross that connects.
Hachi tests Martinez's chin there with a solid looking shot. Hachi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hachi swings wildly with an uppercut but Martinez uses good head movement to avoid it. Hachi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Martinez's coach down at Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Martinez's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Martinez pushes Hachi back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Hachi tries to work over Martinez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Hachi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Martinez tries to throw a body punch but Hachi avoids it by throwing Martinez back against the cage. Hachi misses with a hook from the clinch. Hachi misses with a body punch.
Hachi swings wildly with an uppercut but Martinez uses good head movement to avoid it. A left hand lands to the body for Martinez.
Martinez lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Hachi or not. Martinez blocks a punch to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Shako Hachi has been cut. Martinez tries a body shot but Hachi blocks it.
Martinez lands with a light punch inside. Hachi can't find room to land a body shot as Martinez controls the action.
Martinez breaks from the clinch.
Hachi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Martinez throws a body shot but no joy. Martinez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hachi waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Martinez. Martinez appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Hachi walks into a left hand. Hachi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hachi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Martinez. Martinez scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Hachi moves into the clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A short uppercut from Hachi. Hachi misses with a hook from the clinch. A left hand lands to the body for Hachi.
Hachi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Martinez tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martinez lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Hachi gets through Martinez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Hachi misses with the head strike.
Martinez blocks an uppercut.
Martinez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Martinez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Nice body punch from Hachi. Hachi lands a body shot.
Hachi looks to score with a jab to the body but Martinez is just out of range. A big right from Martinez misses. Hachi swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Martinez digs a good hook to Hachi's body.
A jab from Hachi does it's job there. Martinez circles away from the clinch attempt and Martinez counters with a left to the body. Hachi throws a combination that misses letting Martinez counter with a right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martinez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hachi is fending him off so far but Martinez persists. Nope, Hachi circles away and we're back to standing. Hachi takes a swing at Martinez's ribcage but misses. Martinez swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Danga de danga de dang - Martinez scores with a four punch combination! Hachi just misses with a punch to the body.
Hachi misses the shot to the body. Martinez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hachi misses with a jab to the body
and Martinez counters with a left and a right... And another left! Hachi is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fernando Martinez!
