Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Meah Robertson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Penny ! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robertson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Robertson throws a nice outside leg kick. Robertson tries to clinch but Penny moves out of range. Robertson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Robertson lands a damaging elbow. Penny blocks the elbow strike.
A short left from Robertson. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Robertson. Penny is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Robertson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Robertson tries to score a body lock takedown but Penny shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Penny wants a takedown.
Penny is pressed up against the cage. Robertson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Penny down to the mat. Penny avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Penny avoids the head kick by Robertson.
Robertson lands a jab-cross combination. Robertson scores with a decent looking hook. Robertson lands with a nice body kick. Penny keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Meah Robertson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Robertson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Robertson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Robertson lands an elbow that stopped Penny in his tracks for a moment. Penny tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Robertson just stands there and leans against the cage. Penny misses with a hook to the ribs.
Penny drags the fight down to the ground.
Penny pulls Robertson in close to his closed guard and prevents Robertson from doing any damage or advancing position. Penny throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Robertson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Penny wants to stand but Robertson is controlling the position. Penny looks gassed! Robertson stands up from Penny 's guard - Robertson perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robertson closes the distance and clinches. A short uppercut from Robertson. Penny is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Robertson is working for takedown but Penny is calmly controlling the position for now. A right hook to the body lands for Robertson.
Robertson unloads a knee to the mid-section. Penny lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Robertson lands a knee to the head.
Robertson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Robertson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Robertson goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Robertson darts in trying to clinch and Penny counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Robertson tries to get to full guard but Penny has control of the leg. Penny throwing shots but Robertson is blocking nicely. Robertson trying to control here.
Robertson is trying to stand up here but Penny is controlling him well. Penny stalling away here and it's allowed Robertson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Penny preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Penny postures up.
Robertson wants to stand and escape but Penny is having none of it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Robertson stuns Penny with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Robertson lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Robertson lands with a nice body punch. Robertson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Robertson lands with a light punch inside. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Robertson landing knees to the body.

Robertson is pushing Penny up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Meah Robertson dominated that round. That's time! Robertson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Penny shoots in for a double leg but Robertson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Robertson misses with a takedown attempt - Penny sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Penny moves into the clinch successfully.

Robertson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Penny is breathing heavily. Penny is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Robertson lands an elbow just above Penny 's eye. Robertson jumps guard.
Penny won't allow Robertson to get back to his feet.

Robertson wants to sweep but no luck. Penny wants to control from the top but Robertson keeps moving. Robertson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Penny throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A head kick from Robertson lands but Penny takes it in his stride. Robertson throws a nice inside leg kick. Penny takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Robertson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Robertson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Robertson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Penny takes a body punch but keeps moving. A decent looking body kick lands there for Robertson. Nice sprawl there from Penny as Robertson shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Meah Robertson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters circling a little - Robertson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Robertson is looking to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Robertson rushes Penny and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Robertson is working for takedown but Penny is calmly controlling the position for now. Robertson controlling the action here for a moment.
Robertson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Penny fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Robertson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Penny momentarily.
Horrible takedown by Robertson or perhaps it was just good defense by Penny which made him look bad. Robertson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! No luck for Penny with that takedown attempt. Robertson tries to clinch but Penny moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penny circles away from the clinch attempt and Penny counters by moving into the clinch. Robertson breaks from the clinch.
Robertson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Penny paws at him with a jab and circles away. Meah Robertson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Robertson misses with a takedown attempt - Penny sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Penny . A head kick from Robertson lands but Penny takes it in his stride. Robertson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Penny as he jumps to the side. Robertson tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Meah Robertson dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
No luck for Penny with that takedown attempt. Penny gets off balance looking for a body kick and Robertson counters with a straight right hand. Robertson cracks Penny with an open hand slap. Robertson swinging wilding here.

Robertson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. The fighters circle momentarily. Robertson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Robertson has a takedown stuffed. Robertson closes the distance and clinches up with Penny , looking for a takedown. Robertson pushes Penny against the cage but Penny circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A head kick from Penny lands but Robertson takes it in his stride. Robertson has Penny up against the cage in a clinch.

Robertson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Penny misses the body punch and Robertson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Robertson has taken the fight to the clinch.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Penny goes for a takedown in the clinch but Robertson prevents it.
Robertson lands on the inside with an uppercut. Robertson lands a left hand that snaps the head of Penny backwards. Robertson lands a nice elbow. Robertson gets control of Penny 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Robertson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Robertson throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Penny stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Robertson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Penny won't allow Robertson to get back to his feet. Robertson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Robertson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Robertson trying to control from half guard but Penny is working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Robertson in particular looking to stall. Robertson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Penny wants to get back to his feet.
Robertson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Robertson trying to mount his opponent but Penny defends it. Meah Robertson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Robertson is keen to just control but Penny is a slippery customer. Penny is trying to maintain the position but Robertson is very close to passing his half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Robertson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. BJ Penny has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Meah Robertson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Robertson closes the distance and clinches.
And that's the end of the fight! Meah Robertson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Robertson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
