Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mateus Gracie (ranked 1525 p4p, 2077 weight class) and Daniel Sainty (ranked 179 p4p, 234 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mateus Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Sainty! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sainty tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie throws a hook to the side of Sainty's head but Sainty sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Gracie looks to throw the jab but Sainty is out of range. Sainty scores with a jab. Gracie acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Gracie waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sainty. A leg kick checked by Sainty. Sainty with the counter takedown but Gracie avoids it easily. Gracie misses with a jab to the body
and Sainty counters with a slapping leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sainty throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Gracie drives through and clinches with Sainty against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie avoiding damage.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Gracie for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. Sainty turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Sainty passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Gracie! Sainty prevents Gracie from getting the reversal. Gracie tries to hold on but Sainty pushes him away. Sainty is trying to take his opponent's back.
Sainty is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gracie tries to hold on but Sainty pushes him away. Sainty controlling from mount.

Sainty tries to keep control of the position but Gracie is staying busy. We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sainty not allowing Gracie to control his hands. Sainty trying to control. Gracie looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Gracie trying to control but not successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sainty is looking for the choke from the back position but Gracie is controlling his hands well. Well, with Sainty on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Gracie is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Sainty controls the action. Sainty gets his hands free as Gracie looks to control. Sainty slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
I really don't envy Gracie right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sainty is not going to allow Gracie to sit and survive in this position. Gracie rolls, trying to escape but Sainty keeps control of the position.
Sainty is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Gracie knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Gracie for a finish. Sainty really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Gracie. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gracie wants to control his opponent's hands but Sainty gets his hands free. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Sainty dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Sainty looks to land a body kick but Gracie moved away. Gracie thows a leg kick but Sainty checks it and Sainty counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Gracie is looking for a triangle but Sainty pushes his legs off easily.

Sainty has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Gracie! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sainty jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gracie manages to avoid the submission attempt. Gracie is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Sainty wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. Gracie holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Sainty tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sainty has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gracie wants to control but Sainty postures up. You can see the frustration on Gracie's face as Sainty controls the position. Sainty working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sainty gets to mount! Gracie was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Sainty can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gracie is looking to escape. Gracie is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gracie wants to control but Sainty is having none of it. Gracie is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie is looking to improve his position but Sainty isn't that keen on the idea. Sainty controlling his opponent. Gracie is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Sainty sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Gracie keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gracie reaches up to try and control the position but Sainty seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Gracie rolls and tries to escape and now Sainty has his back!
Gracie trying to control the action but Sainty just sinks the hooks in. Sainty biding his time, controlling Gracie. Gracie wants to control his opponent's hands but Sainty gets his hands free. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sainty is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Gracie with him. Gracie is trying to defend but Sainty has an arm under the chin now! Gracie grimaces and is forced to tap out!
