This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 5 losses; Able Archer! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 40 wins and 21 losses; Masa Wasa!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Wasa shoots in and gets a takedown into Archer's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Archer (0) vs (2) Wasa
Archer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wasa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Archer looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Wasa wants to control from the top but Archer keeps moving.
Wasa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Archer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wasa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
