Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Baraka Ice! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry The Rat! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ice tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but The Rat swivels and escapes. The Rat with a lazy takedown attempt and Ice counters with a nice uppercut. The Rat closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ice to the mat! Ice manages to get full guard. The Rat trying to control the position from guard on top but Ice is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The Rat really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ice. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The Rat distracts Ice with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The Rat drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and The Rat jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ice had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. The Rat is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ice Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take The Rat's back instead. Ice looking to break The Rat's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. The Rat remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Ice will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! The Rat preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Ice. Ice is not going to allow The Rat to sit and survive in this position. The Rat fending off the submission attempt from Ice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ice working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Ice is hanging on to The Rat's back as he tries to escape.
The Rat trying to control the hands but Ice won't let him. Ice is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but The Rat won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Ice off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Baraka Ice! Baraka Ice retains his lightweight title!
