PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jace Edwards (ranked 3043 p4p, 4430 weight class) and Bradlee Dustin (ranked 401 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jace Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bradlee Dustin!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edwards throws a head kick that Dustin semi-blocks.
Dustin fails with the takedown.
Edwards tries to counter by clinching up but Dustin breaks away and moves out of range.

Edwards drives through and clinches with Dustin against the cage.
Edwards is looking to break free of the clinch but Dustin has double underhooks.
Edwards is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dustin is defending well for now.
Dustin is pressed up against the cage. Edwards has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dustin down to the mat. Dustin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Dustin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edwards shoots in for a takedown but Dustin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Dustin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Edwards pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Dustin has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Edwards is trying to keep an underhook but Dustin manages to get the takedown into half guard.

It looks like Dustin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Edwards is staying active underneath Dustin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dustin wants to work for an arm triangle but Edwards is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Well, if Dustin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Edwards is controlling Dustin's trapped leg to prevent Dustin from advancing to side control.
Edwards is staying active underneath Dustin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Jace Edwards will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dustin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Edwards napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Dustin is looking to take a break and control but Edwards is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dustin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Edwards, who protects the arm well.
Dustin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dustin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Edwards doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dustin.

Dustin is working for a submission of some sort.
Edwards is looking for a sweep. Dustin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Bradlee Dustin will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Dustin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Edwards gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dustin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Edwards defends well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dustin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Edwards's guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jace Edwards.
I think Edwards has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
