Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pellegrino DuPont (ranked 4265 p4p, 5868 weight class) and Joakim Johansson (ranked 466 p4p, 562 weight class). Johansson has chosen Scarlet - Hail the apocalypse as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johansson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Johansson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from DuPont .
DuPont throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Pellegrino DuPont seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Decent striking displayed by DuPont there.
DuPont lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Both fighters circling a little - DuPont finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Johansson sizes up DuPont with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Johansson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by DuPont . DuPont obviously looking to wear him down.
DuPont misses with a low kick as Johansson jumps back.

Johansson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Johansson misses with a looping right.
That's one minute gone in the round.
DuPont fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Johansson.

and Johansson counters with a huge left! DuPont is in big trouble! He's backing up but Johansson isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save DuPont from any more damage. A dominating finish by Johansson!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joakim Johansson!
Joakim Johansson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
