Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Hamundarson (ranked 4223 p4p, 3082 weight class) and Kamen Kamenov (ranked 144 p4p, 119 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gunnar Hamundarson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kamen Kamenov! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamundarson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Kamenov has clasped his hands together around Hamundarson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Kamenov lands some shots froms side control. Kamenov takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kamenov working over Hamundarson with some ground and pound. Hamundarson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Kamenov wants to take a breather but Hamundarson is having none of it. Kamenov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hamundarson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Hamundarson is trying to maintain the position but Kamenov is very close to passing his half guard. Kamenov lands strikes from half guard. Kamenov is nestled in close to Hamundarson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Kamenov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kamenov working over Hamundarson with some ground and pound. Hamundarson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kamenov in particular looking to stall. Kamenov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hamundarson has managed to free his arm - good work. Kamenov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kamenov working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Kamenov trying to control from half guard but Hamundarson is working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kamenov is nestled in close to Hamundarson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Hamundarson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kamenov on the ground. Kamenov is taking a breather. Hamundarson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Kamenov looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hamundarson! Hamundarson throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Hamundarson forces Kamenov back against the cage and clinches. Hamundarson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kamen Kamenov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hamundarson drives through and clinches with Kamenov against the cage.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hamundarson tries to sprawl but Kamenov drives through with a takedown into half guard. Kamenov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Kamenov uses his free foot to push down on Hamundarson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hamundarson. Kamenov pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Kamenov working the ground and pound effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamundarson tries to hold on but Kamenov postures up. Hamundarson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Hamundarson wants to control but Kamenov is having none of it. Kamenov lands a big shot there that rocks Hamundarson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Hamundarson is rocked! Kamenov lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Hamundarson! Kamenov sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Hamundarson and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
