PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rozowa Pantera (ranked 5687 p4p, 4024 weight class) and Shane Vaughan (ranked 592 p4p, 496 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rozowa Pantera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Vaughan !
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaughan throws a low kick but Pantera avoids it.
Pantera was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Pantera shoots and misses
and Vaughan counters with a stiff right hand.
Vaughan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Pantera walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Pantera closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Pantera goes for a double leg but Vaughan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vaughan continues to drive forward.
Vaughan is trying to break the clinch but Pantera is controlling him.
Pantera keeps control of Vaughan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Vaughan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Pantera has Vaughan pressed against the cage, preventing Vaughan from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Vaughan tries to break the clinch but Pantera is controlling the position.
Pantera keeps control of Vaughan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Pantera tries to pull guard but Vaughan holds him up against the cage and eventually Pantera drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rozowa Pantera. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pantera drops down looking for an ankle pick but Vaughan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pantera walks into a jab.
Good work by Pantera as he checks the leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pantera closes the distance looking to clinch
and Vaughan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pantera has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vaughan finds it's way round the side to connect with Pantera's head.
Vaughan lands a nice shot to the body.
Shane Vaughan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pantera looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Vaughan lunges at Pantera with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pantera's hand.
Pantera checks a leg kick.
Pantera takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Vaughan tests Pantera's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Pantera walks into a stiff left hand from Vaughan .
Vaughan misses with a low kick.
Pantera was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Vaughan has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pantera takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Pantera throws a body punch but Vaughan moves out of range.

Pantera moves into range and clinches up with Vaughan .
Vaughan looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Pantera is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Vaughan is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pantera prevents Vaughan from breaking the clinch.
Pantera stalling in the clinch.

Pantera's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Vaughan 's corner calls for a 1-2. Vaughan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Pantera blocks a low kick nicely.
It looked like Pantera wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Pantera drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Vaughan is looking to stand up but Pantera isn't so interested in that idea.
Vaughan has his hands on Pantera's head, controlling the position.
Pantera in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Vaughan is adopting a defensive guard.
Pantera wants to control from the top but Vaughan keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vaughan wants to stand but Pantera is controlling the position.
Pantera trying to control the position from guard on top but Vaughan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pantera takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Vaughan is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Vaughan walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Pantera checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Vaughan lands with a nice combination. Pantera backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Rozowa Pantera has been cut.
Vaughan lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Vaughan cracks Pantera with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Pantera is rocked!
Vaughan dips to his left and cracks Pantera with an uppercut!
Oh Pantera is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vaughan connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Pantera! He's out on his feet! Vaughan rushes in and drops Pantera with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Shane Vaughan !
After the fight, Shane Vaughan was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
