Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rama Arjuna (ranked 667 p4p, 1323 weight class) and Hannu Karpo (ranked 91 p4p, 183 weight class). Arjuna comes to the cage accompanied by Om. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 41 - 22 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rama Arjuna! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hannu Karpo! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karpo throws a lazy uppercut
letting Arjuna counter with a right hand.
It looks like Hannu Karpo has been cut. Karpo tries to clinch up. Arjuna was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Arjuna drops his hands momentarily and Karpo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Hannu Karpo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Arjuna slips under a jab from Karpo. Karpo throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Arjuna takes a body punch but keeps moving. Karpo misses with an uppercut. Some bone on bone action there as Arjuna checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Arjuna is looking to counter punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arjuna takes a jab right on the kisser.
Karpo throws a leg kick and Arjuna counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Arjuna moves out of range of the strikes. Karpo gets the takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karpo wants to control but Arjuna is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. No, Arjuna has escaped the position, nice work there. You can see the frustration on Arjuna's face as Karpo controls the position. Karpo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Arjuna sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Karpo is looking to advance position but Arjuna won't allow it. Arjuna is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Karpo throws a shot from downtown. Arjuna moves away and avoids it. Arjuna swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Karpo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Arjuna. Arjuna swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Karpo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. It looked like Arjuna wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Karpo misses with a takedown and Arjuna cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Karpo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Arjuna moves away. Arjuna was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Arjuna ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Arjuna swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Karpo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Arjuna was well out of range. Poor timing from Karpo. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hannu Karpo dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hannu Karpo's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Karpo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Arjuna counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Arjuna swats away the attempt to clinch by Karpo. Karpo shoots in and gets a takedown into Arjuna's guard. Arjuna trying to control the position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arjuna is trying to control the position but Karpo postures up. Arjuna keeping full guard, as Karpo tries to pass. Karpo is fighting to break Arjuna's control of his arms but Arjuna is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Hannu Karpo has got the better of the ground game so far. Karpo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Arjuna is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Karpo wants to control from the top but Arjuna keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Arjuna moves away from the strike by Karpo. Karpo misses with a shot to the body and Arjuna counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Karpo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karpo scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Karpo throws a right and a left that Arjuna avoids nicely. Karpo misses with a looping left. Karpo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Arjuna manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Arjuna keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Arjuna takes one to the chin there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Karpo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Karpo lands a jab to the nose. Karpo fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Arjuna tries to move into range but Karpo moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Karpo misses with a looping left. An attempted straight right counter from Arjuna misses the target. Arjuna gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Karpo. Karpo throws out a loose jab but Arjuna uses good head movement to avoid it. Karpo closes the distance but Arjuna moves to the side and Arjuna counters with a lovely straight right hand! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hannu Karpo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Hannu Karpo's cut. That's time! Arjuna's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round! Karpo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's better than Karpo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Karpo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Arjuna tries to buck Karpo off but Karpo is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arjuna is working hard here to advance position. Karpo tries to score with some ground and pound. Arjuna controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Arjuna is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Arjuna tries to get to full guard but Karpo has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arjuna preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Karpo is looking to take a break and control but Arjuna is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Arjuna slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Arjuna wants to stand and escape but Karpo is having none of it. Arjuna controlling the position. Karpo wants to control from the top but Arjuna keeps moving. Karpo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Arjuna is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rama Arjuna has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Arjuna keeping moving, preventing Karpo from controlling successfully. Karpo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Arjuna is keeping the position for now. Arjuna has Karpo pulled in close to control his posture.

Karpo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A big right from Karpo misses. It looked like Arjuna wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Arjuna is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arjuna takes a shot right to the bread basket. Karpo swings and misses with a shot to the body and Arjuna counters with a stiff right hand. Karpo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Arjuna on the wrong end of a nice hook. Karpo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Arjuna pinned against the cage. Arjuna gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Karpo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

and Karpo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Karpo misses with a takedown and Arjuna counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rama Arjuna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hannu Karpo. Karpo throws out a loose jab but Arjuna uses good head movement to avoid it. Karpo throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Karpo displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Karpo scores with a leg kick.
Karpo tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Arjuna is able to avoid easily. Karpo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Arjuna cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
And that's the end of the fight! Hannu Karpo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Karpo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Hannu Karpo! Hannu Karpo tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
